MAC Creme D'Nude Lipstick

I think it is safe to say I have a MAC lipstick addiction, within the short time of two months I have gone from having no MAC cosmetics products to three lipsticks (Brave, Creme D'Nude and Royal Ball) and one lip liner (Soar). My collection is slowly expanding and I love MAC so much at the moment, their lipsticks are fantastic and are of really good quality. It was very hard to choose what lipstick to go for, as there are so many and I was stood in the shop dazzled by all the choices.

I went for a nude shade, as I wanted an every day colour that gives a hint of colour to your lips but not too much as I would like to pair it with a natural makeup look. I was debating between Creme D'Nude, Pure Zen, Japanese Maple and Shy Girl. I literally kept doing swatches on my arm and could not decide, it took me a good 10 minutes to choose. My final two choices were Creme D'Nude and Shy Girl, I loved both but went for Creme D'Nude.

Creme D'Nude is a very subtle nude shade of lipstick that adds a nice neutral colour to your lips and just looks really pretty. It may not be the brightest of shades, but it is nice to have a good neutral lipstick in your makeup bag. It has become my favourite every day shade and goes with everything, you can never go wrong with a natural lipstick!! I took a couple of pictures with it on, however, as it is a nude shade you can't really see it come up which is why I haven't included any pictures with me wearing it.

MAC lipsticks only cost £15.50, which isn't too expensive if you ask me and the quality is simply wonderful. It would probably hurt your bank account if you bought lots of MAC lipsticks all at once, which is why I am trying to gradually build up my collection. I also really want to try their foundation or any face products soon, I have heard good things about them.

British Beauty Blogger Dream Box 3

Latest in Beauty is one of my favourite beauty sites at the moment, I absolutely love all the beauty boxes they have done recently and think it is such great value for money. I think beauty boxes are a good way of trying out new products, especially since Latest in Beauty do a great job with their boxes. Latest in Beauty is a fast and efficient company, I haven't had any troubles with them and for online shopping I count that as a success.

Crabtree & Evelyn Pear & Magnolia body lotion

This body lotion smells incredible, I love the fruity pear fragrance and this has to be one of my favourite products in the box. It is also the perfect travel size product and fits well in your handbag, you could even put it into a clutch bag on a night out. :) I 100% get why Jane has put this product in the box and am thankful that she did.

Bourjois Rouge Velvet

I actually saw these in Superdrug a couple of days before I ordered the box and thought I have definitely got to try them out. Then I saw the box and thought it was meant to be. Out of the two colours included in the box, I got the one I wanted and so far it looks good. The two shades were Nude-ist and Don't Pink Of It, I received Don't Pink Of It and it looks beautiful for this season, well once the sun decides to come out and the rain/windy weather disappears. The only thing that seems like a negative point so far is that it just has a generic smell and I always like makeup with a nice scent.

 Essence nail polish

I like that there are two different nail polish shades included in the box, it means if people don't like one colour the they can try the second one. I personally prefer the nude shade, as I don't think the pink one will be dark enough on and might look patchy.

Nuxe Creme Fraiche De Beaute Mask

My mum has always taught me to have a good skin care regime and to take good care of my face, so I always like trying out new skin care products. I especially love trying face masks so am glad this was included in the box, it is meant to rehydrate and smooth your face which will be good in this temperamental weather. The only downside I have noticed so far is that it smells slightly like Savlon, which reminds me of being injured.

Ole Henriksen Pure Truth Melting Cleanser

I am very intrigued by this item and a melting cleanser is not something I had heard about before, it kind of looks like honey or even wax actually. According to the label you can use it on your hands or skin and it helps melt away makeup or any impurities. It sounds like a dream product and I cannot wait to put it to the test.

Dr Organic lip balm

I have never heard of Dr Organic before, so I look forward to trying a new brand and seeing if it is a good lip balm. Out of the three potential shades I would have preferred Cherry, however, I ended up with Argan Oil, which smells a bit like marzipan, and I am not entirely sure I like it. I have always liked other argan oil products so hopefully this will be no exception.

Makeup Revolution The One Fluid Blush

I am slightly skeptical about the fluid blush, simply because I have never tried anything like this before and am worried how to apply it without messing up my makeup. However, I have liked the other Revolution items so far and look forward to trying this out.

Eye of Horus pencil

I have another eyeliner to test and I am so excited to, it looks like a really good quality eye pencil and it is obviously good otherwise it wouldn't have been chosen to go in the box. I got a nice brown shade that will pair well with brown smoky eyes and will use it when I next go out.

Benefit They're Real remover

Makeup remover is always a handy product to have, I am really happy that a Benefit item was included. I have tried out all of the 'they're Real' beauty range including the mascara and eyeliner; the remover was last on my list to try.

Salon Science Reglosse Smoothing Serum

I am in love with this hair serum, it has the most amazing scent ever and I have already used it a couple of times. I look forward to trying it for a couple of weeks and seeing if it does what it says, I have been impressed with it so far.

Deciem Hand Chemistry

According to Jane this is one of her favourite hand creams ever and you can see visible results in 11 days. I am excited to put this product to the test and see if in 11 days I have smoother and hydrated hands. I do sometimes get dry hands and this would be a lifesaver, this weather is also being really harsh on my skin so anything that can help is welcomed.

Also included in the box was Roger & Gallet Fleur De Figuier perfume sample and it smells fantastic for Summer! It is a strong scent but not overpowering, I'm actually considering buying the full sized perfume because I love it that much. I also got a Sea Kelp luxury soap from The Scottish Fine Soaps and I have already used half of it, the tin is really cute and will definitely keep it to store items in it. There was also a fake tan included in the box which I gave straight away to my housemate as it is was a medium shade and I am way to pale to ever be able to use it. The only slightly frustrating things about beauty boxes is that it is pot luck if you get an item to match your skin tone, it is understandable you cannot select the shades you want but for skin tone items such as fake tan you should be able to select what shade you want.

I am really happy with this beauty box and the fact that I managed to get my hands on it; the first two BBB Dream Boxes sold out so quickly that I wasn't able to get them. It came very quickly and I was so excited to open it! I cannot wait to see what Jane includes in the next BBB Dream box, such an amazing buy and well worth every single penny.

MAC Cinderella

Hello lovelies, sorry it's been a while since I have blogged but I have had Dissertation draft deadlines and a placement report deadline so I have basically been sat at my desk for three weeks. Anyhow amongst the mayhem that has been my life the last couple of weeks, I managed to get my hands on a lipstick from the MAC Cinderella collection. I missed out on its launch on the MAC website and was slightly upset, so I made sure I was outside the MAC store early for its opening at 10am on Friday 13th. I was the second person in the shop and already knew what I wanted, Royal Ball lipstick. I was so excited once I bought it and it is one of my favourite lipsticks already.

I know a lot of people were unhappy with parts of the MAC Cinderella collection and were saying that you are just paying for the pretty packaging, however, I still had to find out for myself if it was any good. I only bought one lipstick as I didn't really have lots of money at the time, as it is coming towards the end of this terms student loan. If I could have afforded more, I would have gotten the Cinderella Iridescent Powder and the Free as a Butterfly lipstick as well. The packaging is absolutely beautiful and so cute, it stands out amongst my MAC cosmetics collection and well worth £17. I know others commented that the packaging is tacky, but I think it is far from that. It looks elegant and very Cinderella-like.

This is a subtle  and stunning shade, it is a very natural colour but still looks amazing! It is a fleshy-pink colour that brings out the natural tones of your lips with a frosted finish. I am so glad I managed to get my hands on Royal Ball and think it definitely lives up to the hype. The pigmentation is fantastic and it is a perfect warm colour for Spring, I know Spring means brighter tones but it is also good to have a few nude shades in your makeup bag too.

The quality of the lipstick is good, obviously it is not a bright or dark colour so it won't last as long as those shades would but the duration is still great. It just glides straight onto my lips, it isn't sticky or too thick. I have also noticed that the lipstick has a nice vanilla smell to it and makes me love it even more.

Royal Ball is so pretty and I love how it looks on, it adds a brighter pinky natural colour to my lips with a beautiful shimmer to finish it off. I have worn it so much already and hope it doesn't run out for a very long time! It is perfect to enhance my lip colour and it really does go with everything, I think it even makes my eyes look more blue.

This lipstick is fit to suit a princess and has brightened up my makeup bag. I am 100% happy with this purchase and is one of my best buys of the year! It is a slight shame though that they didn't restock it online or in shops, once it was gone it was gone. It was highly anticipated range and they didn't prepare well for it, they should have had more stock and it seems like quite a few people missed out on it unfortunately. Also, I find it ridiculous that people then went on to sell the items on Ebay for up to three times the price.

I know MAC cosmetics do quite a few different collaborations and I really hope they do another one for the new Beauty and the Beast film, imagine the cute yellow packaging!! They also need to do a real life film of the Little Mermaid, that would be awesome!!

COLAB extreme volume dry shampoo

I loved COLAB dry shampoo, so when I discovered that there was an extreme volume dry shampoo I knew I had to test it and to see if it was better than the normal dry shampoo. It is safe to say I was fairly disappointed, maybe I had my hopes too high or was expecting too much. I will always be honest about when I do not like a product and this dry shampoo certainly isn't for me.

I first used it on a night out, I was really excited as I love trying out new products but I did not like how it felt in my hair. Even when I use hairspray my hair doesn't go like this, the COLAB extreme volume dry shampoo made my hair stiff and it had this really weird/sticky/powdery texture to it. Yes it did add volume to my hair but it really wasn't worth it, even the volume faded after a while.

When you put hairspray in your hair you know you can brush it out, this COLAB product cannot be brushed out. It remained disgustingly in my hair until I washed it out two days later, I have never been more relieved to wash my hair and dry it. I then tried it again a couple of days ago and it made my hair go exactly the same.

The texture of it in my hair was just awful and I think I'm just going to through it away, I was really disappointed and am saddened that it did not live up to my expectations. I will probably still try out different COLAB products in the future but this one just isn't for me. The only thing I liked about it, was the fragrance and loved the Rio scent. It smelt of summer and a tropical holiday.

Any thoughts on COLAB's extreme volume dry shampoo?

The Capital Beauty Box first impressions

Hello lovelies, only two more days until it's the weekend and four more days until mothers day so there is still plenty of time to buy your mum a present. Speaking of shopping, I recently bought the Capital Beauty Box from Latest in Beauty and I was so happy to get it in the post today. I love Latest in Beauty, they always have such wonderful beauty boxes and their collaborations with other brands (Glamour, Capital FM, Givenchy...) are awesome. Their beauty boxes are perfect for beauty lovers and a fantastic way to try out lots of fantastic beauty goodies. I could literally praise Latest in Beauty all day but you would probably get bored.

Anyhow, I really liked the look of the Capital Beauty Box and it is the first collaboration they have done with Capital FM. You may be thinking what does Capital FM have to do with beauty or makeup, well they do get to go behind the scenes, interview lots of fabulous celebs and probably know quite a few of their beauty secrets. I really liked the look of the box and it had a couple of brands I had never tried before, so I knew it was a must have. The box is worth £48 and you only have to pay £14.95, plus you get free shipping so it seemed like a no brainer to me.  I will be doing a full review of most products, but here are my first impressions to start with:

Rimmel 60 seconds super shine nail polish by Rita Ora

I got the shade Glastonberry which is a pretty red/berry colour. It is the perfect shade for Summer as it is bright and cheerful. I haven't tried out any of the Rita Ora nail varnishes before, so I'm looking forward to reviewing it on here and seeing if I need to rush out to buy more from the range.

Pixi lip blush (£12.50)

Part of what drew me to the box was the Pixi lip blush, I haven't tried any products from the brand before and love testing new products. That's what makes beauty boxes so much fun, you end up discovering so many different cosmetics and you don't have to pay full price to do so. I have been really lucky with the shades of products in this beauty box, I received Energy which is a light coral apricot lip blush and will be good for Spring/Summer. I am a big fan of coral lip products, so this will be a great new addition to my collection.

Collection Eyes Uncovered Palette (£2.99)

I have never really tried anything from Collection before a part from their amazing concealer, so it will be fun seeing what their eyeshadow palette is like. I really like the nude shades in there and think they will look good for any occasion.

Stila smudge stick waterproof eye liner (£13)

Another brand I have been wanting to get my hands on is Stila, their packaging looks so pretty and sophisticated. I have heard such good things about their eye liners and people seem to really like them, so I am really glad they included this in the box.

Burt's Bees lip shimmer (£5.99)

I'm so happy with the Burt's Bees lip shimmer, I got it in a beautiful pink shade and am ecstatic to try it out. I was hoping for Peony, Apricot, Grapefruit, Strawberry or Watermelon, and I was lucky to get Grapefruit which looks amazing!! It also has a nice minty fresh smell to it, so another point there for having a scented lip product.

Collection lengthening mascara (£3.99)

I love trying out new mascaras and always go for completely different brands to see what is good or not. It must be a good mascara if it is in the box, so I look forward to using it.

I also got a Jimmy Choo perfume sample of Flash, temporary tattoos and a nail buffer. I am really impressed with this set and it looks like the perfect beauty box for Spring/Summer. It was really fun opening it and seeing what shades I got, I love what I have so far and will definitely be trying most of it on tomorrow. I cannot wait to see what other beauty boxes, Latest in Beauty will come out with and they should definitely do another collaboration with Capital FM.

MAC lip pencil - Soar

I have been waiting ages for Soar lip pencil to come back in stock, as soon as I got the email notification that it was. I quickly went onto the MAC cosmetics website quicker than you can say Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious to buy it, as I was panicked it would go out of stock and then it would be months before I was able to get it again. I also found an amazing deal online where you can get free next day delivery and a free sample if you enter the code MACTREAT, how cool is that?! I was very excited by the prospect that I only had to wait 24 hours until MAC Soar was finally mine. I was on cloud 9 when it arrived in the post on Saturday, I couldn't wait to play around with it and try on with other lipsticks.

Soar is a very popular lip pencil, it all began when Kylie Jenner revealed her secret to big and fuller lips, and it isn't cosmetic surgery. She said she uses MAC lip liner in Soar, Spice or Whirl and just fills in her lips with them. I'm not a big fan of the whole Keeping Up with the Kardashians show, but I have to admit her lips do look pretty awesome. I can see why Soar lip pencil has been so successful, it is such a stunning shade and it's no wonder it has been out of stock for so long. It is a pink/brown shade that makes your lips stand out, but not too much that it looks weird. It is a beautiful colour, perfect for day or night. During the day I do a thin line with the lip pencil, then for a more glammed-up look to wear at night I would use a thicker line to make a bolder statement. MAC Soar is fantastic for adding definition and adds an amazing touch to your makeup.

The texture is so creamy and rich, it just glides right onto your lips and is so soft. The quality of MAC makeup is just incredible and I was already blown away by how long their lipsticks last, so you can imagine how pleased I was that their lip pencils are just as good.

I chose to buy MAC Soar as it is meant to pair very well with MAC lipstick Brave and that is a combo I have seen multiple times through beauty bloggers. They complement each other perfectly, it's like they were made for each other!! Soar lip pencil is perfect for any pink or nude lipstick, it is just amazing and goes pretty much with most shades.

I absolutely love how the combination of MAC Brave lipstick and Soar lip pencil looks on. It is amazing for creating big lips and gives you the perfect pout. I sometimes struggle to find a lipstick that pairs with my pale complexion, blue eyes and blonde hair. I can't wear too bright shades as it washes out my complexion and makes me look like a ghost. I am so happy that Soar suits me, it makes my eyes look even bluer and my hair lighter. I am in love with MAC Soar + Brave!! It is the best purchase I have made in ages and I would recommend it to all.

Would I buy it again? 100% yes!! Hopefully though by the time I run out, it won't constantly be out of stock and the hype will have died down a little. I really want to get more lip pencils, Whirl, Stripdown, Dervish and Spice are all on my wish list. I could not recommend it any more, it is such a great lip pencil and is worth every penny.

NARS Satin Lip Pencil - Rikugien

A couple of weeks ago, I had a lovely day out in London with my mum and brother. We went to The British Museum, got Laduree macarons (which are divine), visited Hamleys and walked around London. Whilst we were walking to Hamleys I spotted Liberty London and really want to go in there, as it is a beauty bloggers heaven. I went straight to the beauty department and "accidentally" found myself at the NARS cosmetics counter.

I have been wanting for ages to buy one of their Satin Lip Pencils but have always talked myself out of it: it's too much money, there are other things I could spend the money on, and so on and so on... After seeing how good it all looked in person I caved really quickly and my resolution broke. I knew exactly what shade I wanted to buy and when I tried it on, I couldn't have been happier. I discovered Rikugien a while back when looking through the NARS website and loved the shade, it looked stunning.

The colour is rosy pink and adds a natural shimmer, the pigmentation is stunning and adds such definition to my lips. It highlights my natural lip colour, whilst enhancing it with a beautiful glittery shine. It's not the boldest colour out of the NARS satin lip pencil collection, but it is a shade that you can wear everyday and never have to worry about it being too much. It isn't a too pale colour, it adds just enough brightness to your lips and makes them stand out more.

The texture is really creamy which helps hydrate your lips and soften them at the same time. The lightness of the lip pencil means it doesn't feel too sticky or as if it has been plastered on your lips. Also just because it feels light, it does not mean that it doesn't last as long as other brands'  lip pencils. The longevity is impressive and doesn't fade away after an hour.

The quality of NARS satin lip pencils is beyond amazing and certainly worth every penny you pay for it. I have already used it so much and it hasn't gone done that much, I have yet to sharpen it. The only improvement that I would make on the product, is that it be like other lip crayons where you twist it as you run out. I think it's probably because it makes it more obvious when the lip pencil is towards the end and also I think the whole idea of sharpening is slightly messy.

I really want to buy more NARS lip pencils, I particularly like the shades: Biscayne Park, Descanso and Stourhead. I also have a very long list of their Audacious lipsticks that need to find their way into my makeup draw. Marisa, Anna, Anita, Brigitte, Raquel, Julie, Juliette, Natalie, Kelly and Grace are all amazing colours, so basically I want all of the Audacious lipsticks.

Urban Fudge Iced Tropical Cocktail Miracle Ends

Hello lovelies!! It's the weekend finally, hope you are all relaxing at home after a hard week at work. I have been a bit absent from the blogging world as I'm currently writing the dreaded dissertation and it seems to take over everything... Writing 10,000 words on a topic is a lot of work and reading tons of journals kind of makes you want to fall asleep. But on another note, I am still on my mission to have long, thick and healthy hair. Amongst my recent purchases to achieve this, I bought an Urban Fudge product for the first time.

One of my goals to getting my hair to the length I want is trying to avoid split ends, so I am trying to keep my hair hydrated with different oil products whilst also applying repair hair products to my ends. When I saw the title of the Urban Fudge product, I thought this is perfect I have to try it out. I mean Iced Tropical Cocktail Miracle Ends just sounded really cool and when I smelt it in the shop it just made me want to be on holiday. I felt like I had been transported to a tropical island and was surrounded by fruity fragrances.

Product description: This lightweight yet concentrated lotion with Argan Oil assists in hydrating and nourishing the hair, to smooth frizz, and seal dry ends.

I don't think my split ends have suddenly vanished, however, I do think the ends of my hair are much stronger and dare I say it but a bit thicker. My hair feels a lot smoother, which is all thanks to the Argan Oil it contains and in turn makes it less knotty. The lightweight lotion means you don't have to use tons to cover your hair and it spreads easier, which is great because you don't run out as quickly and aren't constantly dashing to buy more.

What I love the most about this product is how heavenly it smells, it is practically edible and it smells so much like cocktails. I love the scent on my hair and whenever I catch a whiff of the fragrance throughout the day I'm in love with the product all over again.

The price is also very reasonable at £5.99,  you can have healthier and softer hair for under a tenner! I would definitely repurchase it and now I have to try out more Urban Fudge products. They all have heavenly fragrances like Pear & Sweet Vanilla, Iced Coconut Cocktail, and Iced Raspberry & Vanilla.
