Origins skincare products

A couple of months ago, I won a ticket to go to a meet and great with Tanya Burr which was organised by Origins. I was really excited to go and discover more about Origins, I hadn't tried any of their products before and I always love finding out about new brands. It was an amazing event, there were delicious smoothies as I came in and lots of tables with Origins workers on it, all of them were explaining their different products and testing them on peoples hands. I had a lovely chat with a woman and she talked to me about the different products they had brought with them, I then decided to go and buy the Drink Up Intensive Overnight Mask as it sounded amazing. I have been on a quest to keep my skincare hydrated recently and have gotten into buying overnight masks, which is why I bought that product.

Hand Chemistry - Intense Youth Complex Hand Cream

I have been meaning to write this post for ages but things just kept getting in the way. I got hand chemistry in a beauty box I ordered from Latest in Beauty a little while ago and they sure do know how to choose great products to put in the boxes.

What it says it does?

Concentrated multi- functional hand cream targets 8 signs of hand aging simultaneously. The extraordinary 19.5% active complex concentration visibly improves firmness, elasticity, density, evenness, brightness, texture, smoothness and hydration.

Directions: Apply evenly to clean hands morning and evening. Expect visible results in 11 days. Intended for use on hands and forearms only.

I was excited to put it to the test, as I often get quite dry hands and nothing seems to really do the trick. It says to expect visible results after 11 days, so I wasn't anticipating anything to happen instantly but I was already starting to feel a difference. My hands felt so much smoother, after the first time I put it on and it is different to the other hand creams I have used before. The hand cream really does help to hydrate your hands and my hands haven't felt as good in a really long time! After 11 days, my hands felt fantastic and it was as if they were never even dry in the first place.

I know the hand cream is for Intense Youth Complex, but I think it is perfect for anybody with dry/damaged hands and it truly does help to nourish them. Ageing hands or not, this hand cream is amazing and helps make hands firmer and softer.

Would I buy it again? This is one of the best hand creams I have ever tried, it does what it says and it is worth the price you pay. It costs £8 for 30ml and £19 for 100ml, I definitely want to buy more of their products after seeing how good their Intense Youth Complex hand cream is. I'm very impressed by this Hand Chemistry product, if you want soft, smooth, hydrated and firm hands then this is the hand cream for you! It has been named the #1 selling hand cream from October 2013 to October 2014 and it is no surprise, it truly is a great product and I would recommend it everyone.

#BloggersInvadeCenterParcs

Two weekends ago, I went away with a lovely group of bloggers and had the best weekend ever! It was a highly anticipated trip with probably thousands of WhatsApp messages and lots of excited tweets. It was a little bit daunting at first meeting 10 people I had never met before, but after 5 minutes with these lovely ladies my nervousness disappeared straight away. Shortly after arriving, the girls in my lodge (Kirsty, Jess, Adele, Bella and Vicky) and I all sat down, and started to get to know each other. Jess knew the quick way to our hearts was by bribing us with cheese strings and it certainly was a great icebreaker. We all bonded over blogging, the drama that comes with it and got to know each other. There was a slight mishap when picking up our bikes as the shop was shut whoops, Jess and I also thought we were being stalked driving round the car park but the driver of the car turned out to be Bella. We had a good laugh about it and if there was any awkwardness before there certainly wasn't after that.

Lodge 2
Once we got back to the lodge we had fajitas and chatted for ages, after dinner we went over to Lodge 1 were Lauren, Laura, Laura C, Laura Hainy and Rachel were staying. We had a fun chilled evening, there was lots of talking and all these ladies are honestly the nicest people I have ever met. I shared a room with Jess and we stayed up ages talking about everything and anything. She is honestly hilarious and we have the same sense of humour, it felt like I had known her for years and not just hours.

Our second day at Centre Parcs was jammed pack full of amazing and fun activities, I was so excited that I could barely sleep and didn't want to miss a moment of it. Jess and I made breakfast, I was introduced to canned croissant and I cannot believe I have been missing out on them all this time. They taste seriously amazing so thanks Jess!! We also came up with the idea for a big blogger house over breakfast, so if you saw the hashtags on my Instagram posts and thought what the hell is she on about now you know. How cool would it be if there was a blogger version of big brother?! Although there was one flaw in that whole plan, bloggers would need their phones, I mean imagine surviving months without social media and actually being able to blog. After a lot of nattering, 6 of us (Laura, Lauren, Rachel, Bella, Jess and myself) went down to grab our bikes before going canoeing but we kind of underestimated how long it would take to walk there, so in the end we went canoeing first and were joined by Laura Hainy and Laura C. Jess and I paired up for canoeing, she warned me beforehand that she may be a liability but I don't know what she was on about. I think we did pretty well, not as good as Laura C and Laura Hainy who were like pros and synchronised, but we did not capsize so I count that as a success.

After all the fun of canoeing, we had to trek up to the cycle centre with very wet bums and let me tell you it is not a comfortable feeling. Once we got our bikes, we rode back to the lodges and had lunch before going swimming. I was really excited about swimming after seeing the rapids and the steam coming off the water, so I knew it was going to be warm. The rapids were amazing, we went round them 3 times I think and it was just as fun each time. The water was so warm as well, I just wanted to stay in there forever and relax. After swimming we went back to the lodges to get ready for dinner and then bowling.

We went to an American diner for dinner and it was so good, words cannot begin to even describe. I got the BBQ burger and it was incredible, I literally felt so stuffed after just eating the burger and struggled with my chips. They had lots of lovely cocktails, very tasty and photogenic (queue lots of bloggers taking photos of our cocktails).

Laura Himp, Me and Jess

It was a wonderful meal and I also got to Laura a lot better! After the meal we went bowling, I am really bad at bowling so I knew I was not going to win unless a miracle happened but there were a couple of secret pro bowlers in Lodge 2, Adele won and I am convinced she has been secretly training for it. I had such a fantastic day and loved all of the different activities.

Photo session fun
(Jess, Bella and Me)
On our third day, Jess and I biked down to the shops to pick up the ingredients for a fry up and then had a great breakfast when we got back. Us girls in Lodge 2 just talked and talked for ages, we could probably win a marathon for it! There are all so lovely and I cannot wait for the next event to see them all. Unfortunately Vicky had to leave early, she is hilarious and her impressions are amazing, especially one in particular! She definitely could have a career in comedy!

Lazy afternoon (Bella, Me, Jess and Kirsty)

We then lazed around, whilst watching a film and then Adele joined us after dropping Vicky off at the station. We then went down to the swimming pool for an evening swim, we even managed to convince Kirsty to come on the rapids with us. We also tried out some other slides, one was not so pleasant and I ended up inhaling way too much water. After swimming, we were all starving and the girls and I in Lodge 2 decided to get a takeaway. It was the perfect way to end the weekend and after dinner we all sat down to watch Sex and the City.

One last selfie
Our final morning was quite sad and nobody really wanted to leave, it had been such a fantastic weekend that I wanted to stay there for weeks and weeks. It was sad saying goodbye to everyone, but we had already started planning our next holiday and adventure. Adele, Kirsty, Bella and myself went to Longleaf Safari after checking out of Centre Parcs. The safari was so much fun and my favourite part was when we drove through the monkey enclosure, the monkeys climbed onto Adele's car and it was hilarious (sorry Adele).

Thank you so much Lauren for organising it, you are a gem and it was a great weekend. I can't wait for the next blogging holiday and to see all these lovely ladies at the Big Blogger Conference in August!

The Glamour Summer Edit

If you have read my blog or follow me on Instagram, you will know I am a big lover of beauty boxes and Latest in Beauty is my favourite site. Latest in Beauty always have the best boxes and I continue to be endlessly amazed by the great products included in the boxes. This box is jammed packed with lots of fantastic goodies and the beauty blogger in me is jumping up and down excited to try them all out. Glamour magazine roughly do 4 collaborations a year with Latest in Beauty and the boxes are not to be missed! This has to be one of their best boxes yet and it is bound to sell out very quickly. It only costs £17.99, which is a bargain if you ask me and is worth every penny. Here are my first impressions on the box:

Vita Liberata Trystal Minerals in Sunkissed (3g) + full size brush

I have heard of many tanning products but a self-tanning bronzer that is the first and I am very intrigued to put it to the test! I'm not a big fake tanner, I'm as pale as snow and well lets just say fake tan+me= easily looks orange. I'm always cautious on how much I apply or what brand to use, I look forward to using Vita Liberata and seeing if I have a beautiful sunkissed look. The full size product is actually worth £35, so it is understandable I am quite excited to use it and see if it is worth buying.

Pixi Glow Tonic (15ml)

Pixi is a brand I have admired from afar for a while, I got my first Pixi product in the Capital beauty box and loved it. I am really happy to have a second to test and am happy it is a skin care product. The packaging for Pixi is so pretty and has such a summery vibe to it, I am really excited to use the Tonic Glow and see if it brightens/tightens/tones my skin.

Nails Inc Gel Effect (8ml)

Nails Inc is a very well known and respected brand, I have always wanted to try one of their nail varnishes but just haven't gotten around to it. When I saw it was included in the box, I knew I had to get it and it was the perfect opportunity. There were 3 different shades that you could have got and I am so happy with mine, it is my favourite out of the 3. It is called Uptown and is a pretty nude pink shade, it looks really elegant and like it would go with anything.

L'Occitane Aromachologie Repairing Shampoo and Conditionner (2 x 35ml)

This shampoo and conditioner smells incredible, I literally cannot wait to try it. I have a couple of face products from L'Occitane but haven't used them yet, I look forward to getting to discover the brand more and if it lives up to it's reputation. My hair is quite damaged at the moment, so any help I can get with products is great and hopefully this will nourish my hair.

I always love discovering new beauty products, which is why beauty boxes are so great. You pay £15-£20, get a variety of different products to discover and try. I have fell in love with so many great beauty items thanks to Latest in Beauty's boxes and their site truly is awesome! I have not heard of Caudalie before and look forward to trying this, it is meant to get you summer ready and have a head-to-toe glow.

It is safe to say I have a lipstick addiction and love trying out all lip products, so was excited that Bourjois was included in the box. I have yet to try any of their lip products and am happy finally to, I was really lucky with the colour and it looks so pretty. It looks like a nice light shade and perfect for summer, I cannot wait to start using brighter colours in my makeup. I love lip crayons and have yet to come across one that I have not liked.

It would not be a Summer beauty box without having included sun cream, especially considering how pale I am I was glad to see it in the box. I have actually already used it twice, I have been using it under my makeup and it is a good base. It is for dry and sensitive skin, which is a bonus and means it will help hydrate your skin. I only wish I got one of the SPF 50 products as when it is hot SPF 30 isn't strong enough for me, even SPF 50 sometimes isn't enough me haha. I cannot wait to continue to use this and see if my pale skin remain intact.

Balance Me is a great brand, all the skincare products I have tried before have smelt amazing and have made my skin feel good. Even if you aren't a Balance Me fan or haven't heard of them before, I mean who doesn't love a good body scrub?! With Summer around the corner and if you will be having your legs out, then an exfoliator is definitely necessary and here is the perfect one to use!

Seekers of the Sun Temporary Tattoos

Gold metallic tattoos are all the rage this season, especially with festivals around the corner. This is a big trend this season, so I wasn't surprised to see they were included in the box and loved them. I already used some of them and forgot to take a photo (silly me!), which is why there is not a picture of the tattoos. They were all really pretty and perfect, they were easy to apply and loved the gold on my skin.

May 2015 Favourites

I have tried quite a few amazing products this month, so I wanted to group them together and do my monthly favourites. May was quite a horrible month for me, finishing up my dissertation and making sure I had it all together. Anyone who has ever written a dissertation will know that it is like a form of torture and it takes a lot of time. Moving on though, during this month I allowed myself certain shopping breaks as a reward and break from my work in order to maintain my sanity. I have discovered some fantastic products this month and they are all must haves!! So lets dive in.

Sanctuary Spa Active Reverse Facial Peptide Repair Eye Cream (£18)

My mum has always told me to take good care of my face and moisturise it, never leave makeup on and if you treat your face well you will age well. I had not been getting much sleep in May due to stress and worrying, which meant I had really bad black eyes so I was in desperate need of a good eye cream to help down play my black eyes. I was looking across the shop shelves unsure of what to go for, when I came across Sanctuary Spa products. My family literally rave about their body products, but I hadn't heard much about their face ones. I went with it in the end as it was reduced and looked really good, I am beyond glad that I did because the eye cream is amazing!!!!! This is hands down one of the best products I have ever tried and I love it.

The texture is really good, it is quite thick which means you do not have to use tons and a tiny amount will suffice. It glides on to your skin making it feel soft and hydrated, because it isn't liquid-y it doesn't make your skin oily or anything which is a plus. The packaging is stunning and elegant, it also makes it look very expensive but don't let that scare you away because it is money well spent. £18 for eye cream is a decent price, as most of the ones I found were around that or higher. I am definitely going to repurchase it and would recommend it to all those who are having sleepless nights or stressed, it really helped my bags. I mean that aren't gone, it isn't that magical but it does help minimise them and smoothens them out.

Duo Set EOS Lip Balm (£12.50)

I recently did a blog post about EOS lip balms and my love for them, but they deserve to be on the list as I go a different set. I was out shopping with my friend Nicole, when we went into Topshop and saw they had a limited edition duo set of EOS lip balms. As soon as we saw there were two in the packet we were both kind of sold and both came out with a set. In buying the set you save £1.50, as they are individually £7 which isn't a big save but still worth it. They are also different to the individual ones sold in Topshop and do not have the flavours, the two in the set are passion fruit and fresh watermelon. They both smell wonderful and I mean a girl can never have too many EOS lip balms right?! EOS lip balms have literally been a life saver during May, my lips were dry, cracked and in desperate need of a miracle basically. The miracle came in the form of EOS and I am so happy I bought more.

John Frieda Beach Blonde Sea Waves Sea Salt Spray (£6.99)

I absolutely love John Frieda hair products, they are fantastic quality and don't physically hurt me when I buy them. They recently released the Beach Blonde range with a shampoo, conditioner, sea salt spray and conditioning mask. I bought the sea salt spray and the conditioning mask, but trust me I would have purchased it all if I could afford it. However, I somehow managed to restrain myself with only two products. The range looks incredible and the packing is very summery. John Frieda has another winner on their hand and I actually really like the smell, it is a bit different but nice. I can't really put my finger on what exactly it is but it is good! The sea salt spray is my favourite out of the two items I bought and my hair feels amazingly soft. You apply it on towel dried hair, don't dry it with a hair dryer for the proper effect and once your hair dries it should leave it nice and wavy. It really enhances my wavy hair and I love it!

Salon Science Reglosse Smoothing Serum - Swiss Grape (£18)

I got this little gem in a beauty box and it is one of the best hair serums I have tried, my hair feels so much softer and smooth. It smells heavenly, I really cannot do it justice just how good the scent is and it is very summery. I tend to use it every couple of days or whenever I feel my hair could do with a pick-me up. I hadn't tried any Salon Science products before and now I have, I definitely want to see what else they have to offer. The texture is nice, not too liquid-y but not too thick either. They have found the perfect balance so it doesn't go goopy or gel like in your hair.

I only included four items on my list, as I really wanted to focus on why I liked them that much and if not this would probably be a 2,000 word blog post. These four items are amazing and I would definitely recommend them!
