Cutter & Squidge Genies Cave Afternoon Tea

Whilst I was away travelling a picture of an Aladdin themed afternoon tea popped up on my Instagram timeline, since I have a massive sweet tooth and love anything Disney related I really wanted to go to Cutter & Squidge. My best friend and I planned to go once I was back, I was counting down the days on my calendar and it finally came around to it this week. The Genies Cave Afternoon Tea surpassed my expectations and it is the best one I have been to.

A Genies Welcome

Upon arrival we were given 'A Genies Welcome', which is one of the most delicious desserts I have had and was a great way to start the afternoon tea. It is made up of meringue, pashmak (Persian candy floss), pomegranate and raspberry. I have never known food to be brought over so quickly, we had just sat down and the food appeared. The staff were so welcoming and lovely! The Persian candy floss was so tasty and I need to find a shop that stocks it, because I need it in my life again. Along with our heavenly sweet entree we were brought a pot of tea each, I chose passion fruit and it came in a beautiful genie lamp.

The savoury treats were lovely: three finger sandwiches ( cucumber & fresh mint, cheese & tomato jam and coronation chicken), golden cheese clouds, dessert rose tart with roasted vegetables and savoury scones swirls with roasted peppers + feta cheese. The golden cheese clouds were divine and oh so tasty, I really want to make some homemade cheese scones now.

There was also a variety of sweet treats including a raspberry & rose tart, magic carpet cookies, hidden gem macaron with peanut butter and jelly, ruby dream cake (vanilla, strawberry, orange glaze and jelly ruby) and a gold treasure biskie (chocolate, speculous, 24 carat gold). My favourite of all of the desserts was the peanut butter and jelly macaron, I could sit and eat dozens of them! I think I have an obsession with peanut butter and jelly... Plus they had the cutest of cocoa patterns on them of the genies lamp and looked very artistic.

I was blown away by how much food was included in the afternoon tea, they didn't skimp on it at all and it was worth every penny. It costs £29.50 for it all, unless you want to add a glass of bubbly then it is £34.50. I think it is well worth the price and the food was amazing, it is hands down the best afternoon tea I have had and it isn't an exaggeration! Not only was the food incredible but the staff were so friendly, and the service was faultless.

The Genies Cave Afternoon Tea is only on for a limited amount of time and will be ending on the 31st January 2018, so you best book in quick if you want to enjoy the magical experience. I will definitely be going back to Cutter & Squidge again and especially to see what afternoon tea theme they do next year.
